why wont this bottom bracket fit with these cranks?
i bought a truvativ crankset a while back with the intent to use it on the cross bike im building. they are Elita triple GXP cranks and i have a GXP bottom bracket. they are the newer outboard bearing design.
the drive side cup slides onto the spindle no problem, but the non drive cup wont side on. the spindle is too big to fit into the opening. why is this happening? did truvativ have any defective BBs go out recently?
It takes a little effort. Use the plastic cover provided to hold the cup in place and it may take a tap or 2 of a plastic hammer to get it to seat. The cup should be in the frame when you try this. No, it isn't defective.
This is why I don't like Truvativ and Bontrager cranks, They can be a pain.
